20 August, 2008 - Tori and Brenna qualify to the National TOPS Test

Tori Beisheim and Brenna Fosco both qualified to the NATIONAL TOPS Testing to take place in Huntsville, TX in October. TOPs Regional testing took place throughout the summer and approximately 3,000 gymnasts participated. From those who participated, 310 gymnasts from around the country were invited to TOPs National Testing. The National Testing will be held in Huntsville, Texas, Oct. 2-4 at the USA Gymnastics National Team Training Center, where approximately 20 gymnasts in three age groups (9, 10 and 11) will be selected to the TOPs National Team. On Friday night, the Rochester Gymnastics Academy celebrated it's end-of-year Banquet. Many of the gymnasts were recognized for outstanding achievements.

20 May, 2008 - 's Level 4 State Championships

Connor Slater, and Chance Edmonds Represented the Rochester Gymnastics Academy at the Level 4 State Championships over the past weekend. Both had a phenomenal meet. Connor Slater Placed 2nd in the All-Around with a score of 55.45. He was crowned the NY State Champion on Floor and Pommel Horse, and runner up on Vault. In the 10-11 year old age division, Chance placed 2nd in the All-Around with a score of 54.700. He was crowned the NY State Champion on Floor and Pommel Horse, and runner up on P-Bards and High Bar.

18 May, 2008 - Level 6 Team are STATE CHAMPIONS

Rochester Gymnastics Academy hosted the 2008 Level 6 New York State Gymnastics Championships on May 17-18^th. Their Level 6 girl’s team placed 1^st overall in the Team Division, winning Vault, Balance Beam, and the Floor Exercise, and taking 2^nd on Uneven Bars at this state-wide competition.

In the Age 10 Division:

Tori Beisheim of Fairport and Brenna Fosco of Macedon both tied for 1^st All-Around, earning the NYS Champion title. Tori also won State Champion titles on Beam with a meet high score of 9.925 and in Floor Exercise. She took 4th on Vault and 4^th on the Uneven Bars. Brenna earned 2^nd place in all four events.

Teammate Natalie Gurnett of Irondequoit earned 3^rd All-Around, placing 3^rd on Vault, Beam, and Floor Exercise. She also placed 6^th on Uneven Bars.

Chloe Viniski of Fairport placed 8^th All-Around, earning 4^th on Beam and 5^th in Vault. Katie Mansfield of Honeoye Falls placed 10^th All-Around and 6^th on Beam. Skylar DiBerardinis of Victor placed 4^th in the Floor Exercise.

In the Age 8-9 Division:

Bailey Stehler of Pittsford earned a NYS Champion title in the Floor Exercise. She also placed 6^th All-Around and 4^th on Beam. Teammate Hannah Gooding of Spencerport placed 3^rd on Beam, 6^th in the Floor Exercise, and 8^th All-Around.

11 May, 2008 - RGA All-Stars Compete at Hershey Park

The RGA All-stars competed in the American Cheer Power Hershey Park Open on May 10, 2008.

In the Youth All-Star Level 2 competition, our Junior team placed 4th. In the Senior AllStar Level 3, our seniors placed 3rd.

11 May, 2008 - Eddie Penev is a NATIONAL CHAMPION

Over the past few months, Eddie had to make a decision whether to compete for Bulgaria at the European championships, or to compete at the JO National Championships. Having made the decision to test his skills against the best the US has to offer at the Level 10 Junior Olympic Championships, he headed off the Battle creek MI. Competing on Thursday Night, Eddie competed against Level 10 gymnasts from all over the USA, qualifying to compete on Saturday in the All-Around Finals. On Saturday, he repeated the performance of the Previous Thursday to place 8th in the All-Around, and earn a spot on the Junior National team, as well as earn a berth at the VISA championships. The scores from Thursday and Saturday were added together to derive the TOP 6 in each individual event.

Eddie then competed on Sunday in the Event Finals for Vault and Floor. After all was said and done, Eddie was crowned the NATIONAL CHAMPION on Floor, and the Runner up on the Vault.

Competing in the Level 10 14-16 Year old Age Group, Joseph Hodges had an amazing meet, helping his Regional Team to Win the National Championships, and personally placing 15th in the All-Around, and 10th on the Pommel Horse and 14th on High Bar
