2011 RGA National TOPS Team Members |
![]() | CONGRATULATIONS: Mallory Puscheck qualified as a member of the TOPS National Team and will attend an all expenses paid camp at the US Olympic National training center in December. Over 2500 gymnasts tested for TOPS, and the top 40 8-10 year olds are selected to attend the camp. |

Girls Level 7 Team - STATE CHAMPIONS |

The RGA Level 7 girls team competed at the 2011 NY State Championships over the weekend. In a flawless meet with 4 Scores above 38.00 AA, the 9 Level 7 girls dominated and won the Level 7 Team championships.
Individually, Jenna Gooding, Alex Diehl, Kristin Lang and
Chloe Sarkis won the New York All-Around Titles in their
respective age groups. Sydney Sarkis and Sydney
Gifford placed 3rd place All-around. Kiara Kolaczyk,
Maddie Ghysel
and Courtney Burda rounded off New York States TOP TEAM.

Level 8 girls help NY win the Regional Championships |

The RGA
Level 8 girls team competed at the 2011 Regional
Championships
over the weekend. In a toughly contested competition between
New York and Massachusetts, Ali, Mallory, Hanna and Natalie
helped the New York Team win the Regional Championships.
Mallory Puscheck and Ali House placed 1st and 2nd AA.
Natalie Gurnett
placed 3rd AA and
Hanna Gooding won the
Regional Beam Title.. Bailey Stehler, a member of the
NY State All-star team, won the regional Beam title, and
placed 2nd place AA.

The RGA Level 10 girls team competed at the Regional Championships in MA over the weekend. In Jr B age division, Oni placed 1st AA, and Rachel placed 3rd AA. In Junior C, Therese Banks placed 4th AA, and At Junior D, Emma Lasker took the 6th place AA. All 4 girls qualified to the National Championships, as members of the Region 6 Team. At Level 9, Emily Szembrot won the Jr2 age division , placing 1st AA and ensured her spot on the regional team to compete at the National Championships.

The RGA Level 8 girls team competed at the NY state Championships over the weekend. The girls dominated the meet, with the team winning the NY State Team championships. In a first, NY chose a "Super Team" to compete at the regionals comprising of the top 7 Level girls in NY State regardless of age. RGA took 4 spots of the 7. Bailey Stehler was selected as a member of the NY State Allstar team

Teams give it their all in Niagara. |

The RGA Women's team travelled to the Niagara Cup in Buffalo, for the last meet as a full team. The meet was as successful as the rest of the season with Level 4 - placing second place Level 5 - Winning the Team all-around Title Level 6 - Team All- around champions (Remain undefeated) Level 7 - Team All-Around Champions Level 8 - Team All-Around Champions Level 9 - Emily Szembrot - All Around Champion Level 10 - Rachel and Teresa - 2nd and 3rd All-Around respectively.
Emily, Rachel and Teresa were the only 3 girls to qualify to the event Finals on all-events. Full results to follow. |

The RGA team travelled to Orlando to compete against some 3500 odd gymnasts from around the country. Their success was felt by all. Competing in the Men's Competition, Kristian Grahovski won the Level 4 AA title with Ethan Narang placing 2nd. At level 6, Oscar Gonzalez won the AA with Halston Mctyre placing 3rd AA. Competing in the Women's Competition, Rachel Gurnett won the Level 10 competition. Emily Szembrot had a fantastic meet winning the level 9 AA title. The Level 8 team placed 4th (out of some 50 teams), with Mallory Puscheck, Ally House and Natalie Gurnett placing 1st, 2nd and 3rd AA respectively. The Level 8 team placed 2nd (out of some 50 teams), with Jenna Gooding and Kristin Lang placing 2nd in the AA. The Level 6 team continued their unbeaten record, with Abby Richardson and Cami Fletcher winning the AA in their respective age divisions. Here is a list of the full results. |

The Men's team had huge success at the recent Goldstar Invitational in Niagara Falls over the weekend of 9 January, sweeping the team 1st place titles in Level 4, 5, 6 and 9. At level 9, Scott Lazeroff, Matthew Blahyj, Mack Lasker and Christopher Tricard took the top 4 honors. Kevin Penev won the Level 8 All Around title, with Jack Vollo placing 3rd The Level 6 team dominated their competition with Oscar Gonzalez winning the All-around title. The Level 5 Men won 1st place team, with Ryder Jenick and Nathan Murray capturing the AA title for their respective age groups. Cheyenne Huang and Simon Narang placed 2nd and 3rd respectively. The Level 4 Men placed 1st place team with Kristian Grahovski, Lucas Thiele and Ethan Narang placed 1st, 2nd and 3rd AA Here is a list of the full results.

The Men's team had huge success at the recent Steel City Invitational in Pennsylvania over the weekend of 11-12 December, sweeping the team 1st place titles in Level 4, 5, 6, and 9. Level 10, Andy Grabowski placed 1st AA. At Level 9, MatthewBlahyj , Mack Lasker, Scott Lazeroff and Chris Tricard captured 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th AA. At level 8, Kevin Penev placed 1st AA. At Level 6, Martin Tchamov, Halston McIntyre and Oscar Gonzalez placed 1st, 1st and 2nd AA respectively. Ryder Jecick, Level 5 captured the AA title at level 5, while Lucas Thiele and Kristian Grahvski both placed 1st AA at level 4.

After a very cold drive to Syracuse, the RGA Girls team kicked off the 2011 season in a winning way . At level 10, Emma Lasker placed 1st AA, Oni placed 2nd and Rachel placed 5th. The 3 level 10 girls placed 1st in the Team competition. Hannah Gooding won the Level 8 All Around title, and helped the level 8's place 1st place. The level 7 team placed 1st with Alex Diehl and Kristin Lang tying for 1st AA and Courtney Burda placing 3rd AA. The Level 6 team dominated their competition with Abby Richardson and Katie Hill 1st AA. Alexis, Sophia, Abby Hopfinger and Maya Kraus rounded off the top 5. The Level 5 girls won 1st place team with Gracie Kitterman placing 1st AA. The Level 4 girls placed 4th place team with Alex Richardson taking the top place honors at 1st AA. |

CONGRATULATIONS Kevin Penev (10 yrs) coached by Ivaylo Grahovski, placed 9th at the National Future stars Testing which took place at the Men's National training center in Colorado Springs, CO. By placing in the top 18 in his age division, Kevin earned himself a spot on the National Developmental team, and will attend a training camp at the National Training center in July. Matthew Blahyj placed 8 in the 12 year old age division, also earning a spot on the National Developmental team.

CONGRATULATIONS Kevin Penev (10 yrs), Matthew Blahyj (12 years), Oscar Gonzalez (9 years) won their respective age devisions at the FUTURE STARS competition over the weekend. Kevin and Matthew will attend the National Future stars test in Colorado in early November. Martin Tchamov placed second in the 8-year old devision. Well done Guys. USA Olympic alternate, David Durante, was on hand to create a Kodak moment of the event |
